7. Write about your struggles in living the beatitudes. Which beatitude do you find the hardest to observe?

Explanation:

The beatitudes are Christ’s (The Anointed King) manifesto for his Kingdom on Earth, from God in Heaven.

They are all IMPOSSIBLE to keep unless you have the King’s help.

They are not random in order. Rather, they are sequential and progressive. (You don’t become a peacemaker without becoming pure in heart first and you done become pure in heart until you hunger and thirst for righteousness.

The first principle and starting point for becoming a member of Jesus Kingdom is to be poor. Poor in spirit. Poor in the way you think about yourself. Not proud. The opposite of. most religious people. This not something you do, this is something you realize is true. You are a sinner. We can only see this reality when God helps us. You are blessed (fortunate, “lucky”) when this happens to you even though it feels exactly the opposite.

Which brings us to the second point in his manifesto. Blessed are those who grieve. The natural consequence of realizing that you are a poor broken sinner is sadness. But don’t worry about that, God is about to comfort you. Which is way better than you were before because the King, the Christ, is willing to take ownership of all your failures and pay your debt for you. How cool is that? Starting to feel better?

If you are this hope is going to bring a massive change for the better. Instead of being insecure, proud and angry at life because you are trying to do things on your own you will become gentle, meek, teachable, like a lamb. It’s people like that that are fit for God’s kingdom and you are on the right path, the path to genuine righteousness.

In fact having come this far you will crave becoming just like Jesus. You willl hunger and thirst for it and here’s the good news, the great news, you will seek it and find it, you will ask for it and get it, you will knock on the door to get more and God will poor it over your head as long as you want until you can not take any more.

Guess what? When you feel that good it makes you want to give the same thing to others, to show grace and mercy, the same amazing grace that you have received from God to others. You will live in a place called mercy and leave a drop of it every where you good.

Now this kind of person has a pure heart that gets more and more like God—andnis the kind of person God calls his friend. The kind of person he let’s into his private chambers. Forever. We will see God. This is greatest of all rewards. The greatest blessing. It is the promise that fuels our hope and lets us live Christian lives in this dark world.

Which gives us our mission. To bring peace with God to the World. This is God’s mission and we become his ambassadors. But not just government officials. He calls us SONS, members of the royal family. Sons and daughters of God and we will rule with him. Wow!

Now for the kicker, and the hardest of all because it is last in the progression. The world hates and despised Christ. It persecuted and killed him. He knew this would happen. In fact he knew that it was the Father’s will. We must follow Christ all the way to death. Death on behalf of others to save them. Some will see and respond to God. Others will simply despise us And that will be for our glory. We share in Christ’s rejection and we will celebrate the ultimate victory with him in glory in days of happiness that never will end.

That’s the King’s manifesto. I hope it becomes yours too and you join us who follow him!

Answer:

beatitude is specifically relevant to people that do not desire wealth or materialistic possessions. They instead focus on long term means of happiness by usually strengthening their relationship with God. People that are poor or defenceless; that have lost all hope usually experience this beatitude at its fullest. The opposite of this beatitude is to focus on one’s wealth or other means of short term happiness. It is speculated that to follow this Beatitude, one must sell all they own and live in financial distress. This, however, is an incorrect statement. One does not have to live in poor conditions or without any luxury to express their love for God. It is advised that they remain focussed on strengthening their relationship with God rather than focussing on wealth and other means of short term happiness. One is allowed to obtain and enjoy luxuries but must be able to thank God for allowing them to have such possessions and remain grateful rather than envious of what others have or over proud of what they have.
